Self-serve integration setup improvements

Written by Stephen Rudakov | Mar 18, 2026 2:37:11 AM

When IT partners set up a new integration in self-serve mode, the configuration process should get out of the way as quickly as possible. The goal is a working sync, not a troubleshooting session.

As more companies have come onboard and worked through initial setup independently, we've been paying close attention to where things slow down. This week's product update addresses a handful of those friction points directly.

What we've improved

Standardised configuration forms

Configuration forms across platforms have been standardised, so the layout and experience are consistent regardless of which systems you're connecting. If you've set up one integration before, the next one should feel familiar.

Tooltips on every field

Help text is now surfaced as tooltips on every configuration field. You no longer need to leave the page or dig through documentation to understand what a setting does. The context is right there when you need it.

Smarter defaults and field ordering

When configuring a target platform like ConnectWise, fields now load with sensible defaults in place. For source configurations, SYNC filtering options are presented first, which reflects how most people actually work through setup.

Richer error detail on the SYNC page

When a sync encounters an issue, the platform now surfaces as much detail as possible about what went wrong. Rather than a generic error, you get enough context to investigate the root cause and resolve it without guesswork.

Incomplete configuration warnings

If a relationship isn't fully configured and you attempt to run a sync, the platform will now tell you exactly which part of the configuration is missing before anything starts. This prevents a sync from kicking off only to produce a stream of errors that are harder to interpret after the fact.

Why this matters

For MSPs and IT teams connecting two platforms for the first time, getting to a successful sync quickly is what matters. Every extra step in setup, every unclear field, and every cryptic error message adds time and reduces confidence in the platform.

These improvements are part of an ongoing focus on making the configuration experience as clear and direct as possible, whether you're setting up with help from our team or working through it independently.

See it in action

Steve walks through each of these changes in this week's product update video. If you're currently setting up an integration or planning to, it's worth a watch.
